Our Partnership with the Liberian Christian Orphanage:
In 2011 while on our annual two-week missions trip to Liberia we had the opportunity to visit the Liberian Christian Mission Orphanage. It was the start of a special relationship with LCMO. Located in Careysburg, Liberia, forty-five minutes outside of the capital of Monrovia, LCMO has 65 children at the orphanage, with five staff members. The property consists of two buildings; one for the school and the other building is where the kids and staff sleep.
In 2012, on our last trip, we were able to spend an entire week with the kids (check out our trip pictures); building relationships, playing soccer, teaching bible school and just loving on these children. It was an incredibly impactful experience for everyone who went along. They are a special and unique group of kids who we look forward to helping and watching grow in the coming years.
We recently partnered with the Orphan Relief Network who focus on training and education for the children and staff. ORN sponsors 6 other orphanages in Liberia providing food, vocational training, and education. They are well established and an excellent organization to be partnering with at LCMO!
Our role in this partnership is to focus on providing basic hygiene and food for the children. Hunger is an uneasy and painful situation that most of us cannot relate to. For $15 a month you can partner with us in helping to provide food for the children at our orphanage. With all of us coming together for the betterment of the kids we believe that we can make a significant impact in their lives and in Liberia, Africa. Will you become apart of the community supporting LCMO?
